Normal cells have a plethora of specialized cells and with proliferation there tends to be a loss of specialized function. Her interest in stem cells came with some problems. First, all cells come from other cells. Secondly, specialized cells tend to divide very infrequently. Therefore, she began studying the germline cells of fruit flies because the cell cycle is very similar to humans. She wanted to study stem signals and their complex connections to determine the cell fate. Such as in the Drosophila uterine cells, there is a cluster of cells in which only one will become the final egg cell, the others are nurse cells that monitor the egg. The Medical Hospital Insurance Trust Fund will receive lesser income from tax and other revenues, thus, it will dedicate more exp enditures in the payment of hospital benefits.It was predicted by the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees that in 2019, the funds for Medicare will be exhausted. For the Social Security fund, it was predicted that it would be worn out in 2041. Moreover, the trust fund that is responsible for paying the services rendered by the physicians and for the prescription of new drug benefit will be requiring general income. The payment for the Medicare Supplementary Insurance Trust Fund (for physicians) will come from the beneficiaries of the Medicare and this will also be rapidly increasing as the cost for the payment of hospital bills is also increasing (Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees, 2007). As the cost of the income of the trust funds that comes from the tax and other revenues are decreasing, the burden for the Medicare program as well as for the Social Security will be increased.As stated in the report of the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees t here is 4.2 % of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the Social Security benefits in 2006. The Gross Domestic Product incurred from the Social Security benefits was also predicted by the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees to make an increment of about 6.2 % in the next decades (2030). The Gross Domestic Product of the Social Security benefits will then be again increased in 2081 by 6.3 %. In the report presented by the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees, the projected insurance and premium deficit for 75 years showed that there is indeed an decrease in the taxable payroll of the combined Old-Age and Survivors and Disability Insurance Trust Funds.There is about 1.95 % of taxable payroll for the combined Old-Age and Survivors and Disability Insurance Trust Funds that was originally 2.02 % in 2006. The decrease is due to the fact that there were changes done in financing system. As shown in the analysis done by the Gross Domestic Product of the Social Security , there is a positive response regarding the short term test for financial adequacy. However, the long term test for financial adequacy had resulted in a negative response. It was also further laid out that in the predictions done for 2017 that there will be a little by little decrease in the funds that will be allotted for Social Security and in 2041, the program can only sustain a seventy five percent of the beneficiaries. The reason to explain these results is the fact that all the trust funds will soon reach the point of exhaustion (Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees, 2007).The economic condition of the Medicare program is worse than the economic condition of the Social Security of the United States. Social Security and Medicare programs are both facing demographic problems but there is a larger impact of the deficit in the Medicare program. The increase of health care cost is evident at older age which is one reason why there is a larger problem experienced in Medi care. Furthermore, it was projected by the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees (2007) that there will be an increase in the allotted funds for the health care maintenance of the Medicare beneficiaries while the tax income and other revenues are relatively decreasing. The result of this situation was then be reflected by the Gross Domestic Product cost of Medicare program which had reached up to 3.1 percent in 2006. The equivalent of this Gross Domestic Product in terms of the Social Security is about seventy two percent and it was projected that the GDP for Medicare will exceed the costs for Social Security expenditures in 2028. Moreover, the GDP increment of the Medicare program will exceed the Social Security costs in 2048 by eleven percent.The analysis conducted by the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees (2007) had presented that there is a negative response in the short term test for financial adequacy. The reason for the failure of the financial adequacy is that there is a continuous drop of annual assets versus the increasing annual expenditures. Moreover, there was also a failure of the long term test for financial adequacy when the Medicare actuarial deficit in the Hospital Insurance Trust Fund was analyzed. It was also projected that the Hospital Insurance trust Fund will reach the point of exhaustion in 2019 much earlier than the point of exhaustion by the Social Security. In 2019, the expected percentage which the Medicare program could only sustain will only be seventy nine percent of the total percentage of beneficiaries.With the problems of finance experienced by Medicare program, Part B of the Supplementary Medical Insurance Trust Fund and Part D will not experience the same deficit as experienced by the Medicare program. Part B is the one responsible for the payment of the doctor’s and the physician’s service as well as the payments allotted for outpatient’s expenses. Part D is the one responsible fo r the payment of the prescription drugs. The reason why there will be no deficit problems experienced in the Part B and Part D of the Supplementary Medical Insurance Trust Fund is because there was law that orders of the automatic financing provided for the program. Automatic financing will be done annually and this is to be able to provide f or the expected costs of the Parts B and D in the future years (Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees, 2007).Remedies for the economic problemsAs many of the reports had indicated the possible downfall of the Social Security and Medicare programs of the United States, solutions ad alternatives for the problem to be solve was also presented. In my point of view, the root of all the problems encountered by the economic stability problems of the federal government supported programs such that of the Medicare and Social Security are not only about demography but also the allocation and the financing system of the programs.The federal gove rnment is not only the one to blame of the decreasing collections from the revenues of taxes as well as the increasing trend in the payments for hospital benefits of the Medicare and the increasing payment in the benefits of the Social Security. There should have been a collaboration of the offices involved in the welfare of the two programs. As a suggestion, I would recommend that increase in the taxes should be imposed because there is also an increase in the payments of such benefits of the Social Security and Medicare. A more flexible and more sustainable financial arrangement should be implemented to be able for the problems of Medicare and Social Security to be solved.Parker (2004) had reported that the annual report of the Social Security and Medicare was estimated to have been incurring a total gap of about $50 trillion. This gap is should be able to be collected by the taxes and other revenues. These figures had been changed by the estimate done in Bush’s administrat ion that over the next seventy five years, there will be a gap of $18 trillion. It was presented that to be able to avoid for the financial crisis that is experienced by the Medicare and Social Security is for the citizens to be convert their lifestyles in a way that aging could still be prevented (Parker, 2004). Rejuvenation therapies are then recommended to be done by the citizens to be able to save some budget that will be used for the hospitalization payment of the elder people (which is handled by their Medicare).In this way, more resources will be able to save for important incidences and for future use. Likewise, this would be a great help to the looming financial disaster experienced by the budgets of the Social Security and Medicare programs. Change of immigration policies will also help in a way to reduce the burden of the financial problems (Parker, 2004). By implementing the new law f or immigration will help in the reduction of the citizens who are classified to have lo w income. By reducing the low income immigrants, low taxes paid by these immigrants will also decrease therefore, it will not add up to the low taxes paid for the revenues that will directly be allotted for the Medicare and Social Security. Health promotion programs examples Essays

Health promotion programs examples Essays Health promotion programs examples Essay Health promotion programs examples Essay Ideally, there are clear similarities and differences between a private and publicly funded health promotion programs. In public hospitals, for example, the numbers of patients seeking for healthcare are more as opposed to private hospitals. The difference in the populations of patients in the public hospitals is because the services are relatively cheaper as compared to a private organization (Whitsel, 2017). In this essay, there will be expositions of the similarities and difference between health promotion programs funded by private and public bodies. Difference betweenhealth promotion programs Ideally, the customers differ in their perspectives regarding the quality of services they receive from private and public facilities. Ideally, a high-quality service in health facilities attracts an extra cost. The governance and ownerships of private healthcare are private. Consequently, the resources in a private health facility, for example, doctors, staff, and equipment are under the management of individuals. On the other hand, the government is responsible for funding and managing public hospitals. The supply of equipment, medicine, and health practitioners to the public facilities rely on government budgets (Whitsel, 2017). Ideally, most customers prefer private healthcare because of the perceptions that the services are of high quality. The patients belief that the private healthcare provides quality services because of well-trained personnel, and reliable equipment. It is apparent that the clients in private healthcare receive maximum attentions hence a high level of attent ions. The high quality services offered in the private hospitals is relatively expensive. It is a fact that the resource management and allocations are efficient in private hospitals. Ideally, most clients in the lower class cannot afford to pay for services in private facilities because quality service attracts an extra cost. In the public hospitals, the judges for service are relatively cheaper because of government subsidies (Whitsel, 2017). Ideally, in most communities, different people fall in diverse wealth statuses. The private disease prevention program focuses on quality and the returns from the service. For this reason, private organization divides the community into categories depending with financial statuses. The perspectives patients visiting public facilities are that the flow of services is slow but relatively cheaper as compared to the private programs. As a result, the private organization creates disparities in the community because most people cannot afford the quality but expensive services. In private facility, the ratio of service providers to that of the patients is favorable. The owners of health facilities respond appropriately to the demand services in the healthcare. Similarities ofhealth promotion programs Despite the difference in private and public healthcare, there are apparent similarities. Most of the disease preventions programs funded by governments and privates individuals embraced professionalism. In the case of health promotion and disease preventions, the facilitators in the publicly and privately funded programs are specialists (Yip, Hsiao, 2014). It is apparent that the goal of both public and private healthcare is to improve the public health. Ideally, there is a disparity in the quality of services in private and public healthcare because of the number of people they serve. Both private and public healthcare attempts to address disparities in the provision of services in the community. A disparity in provisions of services in private and public healthcare takes the form of gender, age, origin, and ethnicity (Yip, Hsiao, 2014). Notably, discrimination because of financial status and popularity are common in both the private and public organization. There is a tendency t o give attentions to dignitaries as in both public and privately funded health promotion programs. However, there are highly qualified doctors and resources in both public and private healthcare. Reference Whitsel, L. (2017). Governments Role in Promoting Healthy Lifestyle. The impact on countries & companies of sanctions against Russia Assignment

The impact on countries & companies of sanctions against Russia - Assignment Example The literature suggests that the use of sanctions increases risk in a country. Several studies have indicated that sanctions in most cases fail to bring the desired outcome. Sanctions on Russia were imposed to solve conflicts by using alternative strategies other than military actions. Russia’s economic and political conditions were aggravated with the sanctions. There had been several negative effects which not only affected Russia, but also other countries like the United States and the European Union were affected. Many companies in the United States who had investment plans in Russia had to suffer losses due to restrictions on business activities. The sanctions would be effective only if there is cooperation and collaboration in business activities among the nations. The Russian Government should change its outlook towards the actions taken in Ukraine in the coming five years. The government should emphasis on portfolio diversification in not only the energy sector, but al so other financial sectors. The government should rely on peaceful negotiations with the superpowers like Europe and the United States to sustain growth in the long run. The business environment should be enhanced and trade situations have to be improved. Restrictions on free trade have to be removed so that imports and exports are encouraged. These are the principal steps that the Russian government should seek to achieve in the next five years in order to ensure balanced growth trends in the economical situation.

Importance Of Internal And External Communication Strategies Essay

Importance Of Internal And External Communication Strategies - Essay Example There are certain factors that help in determining the effectiveness of communication strategy a corporation implements. These factors include a number of employees the message is intended for, their relationship, nature of the message and channel and the effectiveness of the feedback system. An essential aspect of internal communication is it should be concentrated as well as coordinated so that the message is well communicated and different managers and employees can be reached through this. Moreover, it must be consequent in nature and continuously transmitted. Internal communication can be further classified as work, control, change, culture and news communication. This classification segregates the nature of information and makes it more defined. Together all these kind of communication creates an integrated system of internal communication (Kalla, 2005). The strategies that have been employed by multinationals to improve internal communication are electronic communication throu gh e-mail, integrated chat platform, video-conferencing and social networks. Employees of a multinational company are encouraged to be part of different network groups within the organization (Luo and Shenkar, 2006). This helps them in understanding culture aspects of their global counterparts, gaining insight of their professional achievements and learning through knowledge sharing and transfer (Phene and Almeida, 2008). The multinationals are also active in social media circles, where employees are encouraged to participate.

Speech Analysis Essay Example for Free

Speech Analysis Essay On October 10, 2013 I gave a speech to my classmates about the three most important steps in investigating a murder case. These are including separating witnesses, collecting evidence, and interviewing suspects. Watching the video of my speech, I observed many strengths and weaknesses: strengths including a lot of facts, an interesting topic, and talking at an average pace. Weaknesses that stuck out to me were my hands consistently being in my pockets and reading directly off my notecards. The first thing I thought I did well was including a lot of facts. This is important because it was an informative speech and the goal was to inform the audience of information about a topic they were not aware of. I feel as if adding information, that wasn’t necessarily told to the public, about JonBenet Ramsey’s case was a good decision on my part. For example, I incorporated that JonBenet’s father received a raise earlier that year of the same exact amount of money that was asked for in the ransom note. The second thing I thought I did well was picking an interesting topic. The subject of criminal justice is just exciting all around. From mysteries to solving crimes it is all enjoyable to learn about. Criminal justice and the JonBenet case was a good topic to choose because it kept the audience’s attention. When hearing about a mystery or an unsolved murder crime it is practically expected to stick around and listen to the end to see if it has been figured out if not people are left with a cliff hanger. The third strength would be talking at an average pace. If one talks too fast it’s hard to comprehend all the information that’s being thrown at you. Therefore maintaining a good pace helps to add onto time and to keep the audience’s responsiveness. Talking too slow can affect the outcome also though. There has to be a happy medium. Now that I have discussed strengths, I will now move onto weaknesses and how I can improve them in the future. During my speech I kept moving my hands in and out of my pockets. This is considered as a distracting mannerism and can affect the audience’s attention to my hands rather than what I am saying. I can improve this by keeping my hands to my side where they are out of the way and ignore my nervous habits. The final weakness I noticed was how often I looked at my notecards. It honestly just looks extremely weird looking up and down constantly. Memorization is key and I can improve this by practicing more often and in front of different people to get more comfortable with my words. I can’t just sit here and say I need to do this either, because it won’t change unless I continue to take action to make myself better. All in all I thought my speech went well over all. There are positives and negatives out of everything one does. In this case the strengths were a lot of facts, interesting topic, and talking at an average pace. The weaknesses were hands in my pockets and reading directly off my cards. Both of these weaknesses are completely capable of being changed. By the end of this semester I plan to have successfully given a speech without the little mistakes. All it takes is practice, motivation, and knowledge and quite frankly I feel as if I have all three!

Othello :: essays research papers

In the Elizabethan times, there was a common belief that all beings belonged to a structure called the "Great Chain of Beings". At the top of the chain was God, who was the absolute symbol of perfection, followed by angels which had reason, human beings, and then animals, that were full of passion. It was believed that the human being was a mixture of both the angel and the animal, thus there was conflict between these two halves of a human being. The angel was representative of all that was right and virtuous and in contrast, the animal was representative of all that was wrong and self-serving. When Iago made the comment that, "Hell and night must bring this monstrous birth to the world’s light," (I, i, 394-395) his calling upon the forces of darkness to achieve his goal illustrates the imbalance in the conflict that rages in his soul. Iago is an individual who’s perspective of the world is dominated by his animal nature. Due to his own lack of virt ue, Iago does not believe that any virtue exists at all. In his actions, he seeks to bring all around him to the same level of existence. The motive for the evil he commits is none other than to commit evil. Thus beyond all of the reason and thought that he cloaks himself in, Iago is really a character that is truly dark at his core. Iago is a character who believes that there is no such thing as virtue in any individual that he meets. His animalistic perspective of individuals lets him believe that everyone around him has the same self-serving attitude towards life as his own. "When the blood is made dull with the act of sport, there should be game to inflame it and to give satiety a fresh appetite,"(II, i, 225-227). Iago’s animalistic nature believes that Desdemona will eventually cheat on Othello when she is satisfied with her body, for he believes that the only purpose of sex is to satisfy an individuals sexual craving. He does not believe in the virtue of love, so he can not understand that there was more to the relationship between Othello and Desdemona. Thus his lack of virtue limits his ability to see the intentions of the people who are around him. To him, the world around him is one that is governed by the basic rule of evolution, only the strong may survive.

My View on Sporting Event

Popular events like the football world cup and other international sporting occasions are essential in easing international tensions and releasing patriotic emotions in a safe way. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? In present days,more and more countries are putting big sporting events into national agenda due to a sporting explosion and their increasingly attentions towards multinational sports occupations. Meantime,issues are highly debated on whether such international sporting activities can ease the intensive atmospheres between competitive countries or not. Personally, I really appreciate the former idea for several reasons. In general,popular sporting events contribute to harmonious relationships between the participated nations. To start with,communications between nations during the games enable them to be closer to others. Participation in the events promotes the development of friendshios and recongnition,which are acquired by sharing the exciting moments and cooperating with each other. Moreover,every joining country is likely to concentrate on the game during the competiton,which ,as a result,tend to pay less attention to deal with his enemies in the fields of politics or economy. It is true that countries can afford no distraction to pose threats to the security of other countries during the game. Admittedly,sporting events may not function well to shoulder the responsibility for eliminating the contradiction between countries. The reason for this is that such events can make competitions even more intensive than before,provided that one country win another,which is coincidently its enemy. Obviously,the situation tends to be counterproductive,let alone the expectation of an improvement. Even so,it is unusual that such sort of thing happens frequently,as the game launched internationly is seen as a profile of promoting team spirit and paticipation. In summary,I would concede that the sporting events cause worse problems in some cases. Despite that,they play pivotal roles in cooling strained emotions safely. Overall,I am convinced that more and more countries should join in the events.

I think that consumers will readily (gladly) accept these substitutes whenever possible. Advances from one’s employer are the best option but is not readily available to everyone. Overdraft is similar in pricing and many credit cards are as well. Overdraft is easily converted to cash when credit cards are harder to acquire cash from. Credit cards along with loans, lines of credit, home power lines of credit and mortgage refinancing are each increasingly lower in costs but are not as readily available as payday loans which is one of the reasons why there is a $40 billion dollar market. Plus, most substitutes are attainable with good credit while most payday loan companies do not require a substantial amount of information to obtain a cash loan from them.
